The majority of the work took place on the parlor level: removing interior walls for a more open and light-filled space, replacing and reconfiguring the kitchen, replacing an under-utilized and small full bathroom with a new powder bath and walk-in-closet, and adding significantly to the glazed area of the rear wall. Related and minor cosmetic work was also performed in the cellar, basement, and second floors.

Steel beams were carefully inserted into the rear wall to allow the enlargement of existing small openings into a large picture window and sliding patio door.

Existing chimney flues were removed for a tighter building envelope and restoration of a flat brick façade in the rear.
